Donora searching for new borough administrator

Donora council discussed advertising for a new borough administrator during a workshop session Thursday night to replace John Bedner, who resigned Tuesday.

Council President Jane Ackerman wanted to call for a vote to accept Bedner’s resignation so the borough could place the advertisement as quickly as possible, but fellow council members John Conger and Gib Szakal said it wasn’t necessary to accept his resignation before placing the ad.

Council will likely accept the resignation at its voting meeting next week.

No one discussed the reason for Bedner’s resignation.

This isn’t the first time Bedner has submitted a letter of resignation. In March 2018, he resigned early in the week, but changed his mind and sent a second letter asking to rescind his letter of resignation.
