It didn’t take long for Serra Catholic to bounce back from last week’s loss to Seton LaSalle in the WPIAL Class 2A championship game.
That was evident in the four early runs the Eagles scored in their 6-3 victory over Moniteau in the first round of the PIAA playoffs Monday at Showers Field in Dubois.
“Coming out against their pitcher (Hunter Fitzingo) and getting those early runs was big,” Serra Catholic head coach Brian Dzurenda said. “I kinda felt like they were playing defensive from behind the rest of the game.”
Alex Glumac, Pat Brennan and Nico Eremic each had RBIs in the first two innings to help the Eagles (21-3) take a four-run lead.
