Mon Valley residents who have used Quest Diagnostics — in Rostraver Township or White Oak — could be among nearly 12 million patients who have had their personal information compromised after a breach was detected with a billing collection firm contracted by the company.
In a news release Monday, Quest Diagnostics said it was informed May 14 by AMCA, a billing collections service provider, and Optum360 of potential unauthorized activity on AMCA’s web payment site.
AMCA provides billing collection services to Optum360, which is a Quest contractor.
According to the release, an unauthorized user may have had access to AMCA’s system, which contains personal information received from various entities, including Quest Diagnostics.
