After only allowing 11 runs over an eight-game winning streak, Serra Catholic was pounded for that same amount in one game Wednesday as it suffered an 11-2 loss to Seton LaSalle in the WPIAL finals at Wild Things Park.
While that defeat halted the Eagles’ chances at a WPIAL title, they will begin their quest for a state championship today against the District 9 champions from Moniteau (17-5) at 3:30 p.m. at Showers Field in Dubois.
The Eagles (20-3) will look to rebound and refocus following last week’s lopsided loss.
“We have a young team and we are resilient,” Serra Catholic head coach Brian Dzurenda said. “I expect that we will go out and have an outstanding game. They have shown in practice that they have put the last game behind them.”
