Over the past two years, Mc-Keesport musician Johnny Cardo has been receiving a lot of opportunities to expand his musical reach in the Pittsburgh area.

After graduating last week from Serra Catholic High School, Cardo said he is excited to celebrate summer with his friends and neighbors from across the Mon Valley as he brings his musical stylings to the people of his hometown during the second McKeesport Riverfront Concert.

The show will be Friday at the amphitheater at Gergely Riverfront Park at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Water Street.

Cardo, 18, is a North Versailles Township native, but has lived in McKeesport for the majority of his life. He will open the concert for musician Mark Rose of Chicago. Showtime is 7 p.m., and the amphitheater and street-fair-style concession areas will open at 6 p.m.
