Detectives from the Allegheny County homicide unit responded to request for assistance after a man was discovered shot to death in the 1300 block of Tube Works Alley at around 1:45 p.m.

Authorities say a Mc-Keesport police officer in a marked cruiser was flagged down by a pedestrian along Walnut Street who said there was a body on the roadway along Tube Works.

McKeesport police located the body of a 17-year-old boy in the alley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
