Owner of Charleroi cat rescue charged

The founder of a nonprofit cat rescue in Charleroi is accused of animal cruelty.
Lori Kendall, 64, and her husband, Donald Caldwell, 64, both of Eighth Street, are each charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals – causing significant bodily injury or death and cruelty to animals.
Washington County Animal Control filed charges against the couple Thursday.
They were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Larry Hopkins in Charleroi and placed in Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 monetary bond each.
