WPIAL championship schedules released

The WPIAL has announced the dates and times for the WPIAL baseball and softball championships next week.
Things are nice and spread out among the week and our four local teams. As in the past years, the WPIAL baseball championships will be played at Wild Things Park in Washington. The softball championships have been moved to Peterswood Park in Peters Township after they were held at Seton Hill University last season. The championships were expected to return to Cal U’s Lilley Field this season, but renovations at the facility are still ongoing.
The Valley will be represented by two baseball teams and two softball teams in this year’s championship games.
In Class A baseball, perennial power and top-seeded California (17-1) will face No. 3 Union (15-3) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Wild Things Park.
