Trojans looking to clean things up defensively

A lot of coaches often say the first playoff game is the toughest and Lou Pasquale hopes they are right.
Pasquale’s California Trojans allowed an uncharacteristic four errors in Monday’s come-from-behind 9-6 win over Eden Christian in the WPIAL Class A quarterfinals.
He’s hoping Cal’s semifinal game against Quigley 4 p.m. today at Washington & Jefferson offers a better performance.
“We can’t play as bad in the field as we did Monday,” Pasquale said. “We won’t win again doing that. We dug ourselves a big hole. Fortunately we were able to get out of it.
“No question, we’ve got to be better than that.”
