Evelyn Malinchak – Monessen

Evelyn Malinchak, 95, of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Donora on Oct. 9, 1923, a daughter to the late Michael and Angelina Dabiero Massafra. Mrs. Malinchak was a homemaker and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen. Evelyn worked at Sears as a supervisor until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Malinchak; a grandson, Jonathan Murt; three brothers, Cosimo, Samuel, and Anthony A. Massafra; and two sisters, Yolanda DiBuono and Rose Indof. Evelyn was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lou (Tom) Murt of Belle Vernon and Debra (Dr. John) Danek of Craven Hill; three grandchildren, Thomas John (Patricia) Murt, Lauren (Jeffrey) Hoffa and John James Danek; three great-grandchildren, Reed, Clark, and Everett Hoffa and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where family and friends will be received from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Monongahela Valley Hospital Foundation, 1163 Country Club Road, Monongahela, PA 15063.
