Armed Forces Day marked in McKeesport

The McKeesport History and Heritage Center celebrated Armed Forces Day on Saturday with a presentation on local World War II hero Capt. Glenn Rojohn.

A portion of the history center’s display is dedicated to telling Rojohn’s story and includes a model of his B-17 bomber, photos of him in his pilot’s uniform and a print of his famous “Piggyback Flight.”

Rojohn’s children, David and Cyndi, were the featured speakers at the center’s Armed Forces Day program.

Cyndi asked for a show of hands from people who knew her father. After a number of hands went up, she asked if her father had told any of them about his exploits during World War II and almost all the hands went down.
