Humane Society under quarantine

The Washington Area Humane Society is operating under a precautionary 14-day quarantine after a dog tested positive for the parvovirus on Sunday.
According to a release on the humane society website, vet and kennel staff caught the virus the day it broke and it has been isolated.
Parvovirus is a contagious viral illness that affects dogs, and it comes in two forms.
The more common form is intestinal and symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss and lack of appetite.
