Early exit for Ringgold

Ringgold’s state title defense didn’t last as long as the Rams would have hoped.
No. 12 Mt. Pleasant used a five-run fourth inning to pull away for an 8-0 win in a WPIAL Class 4A first-round game at Seton Hill Wednesday, ending the Rams’ season.
The Rams, who pride themselves on stellar defense, saw roles reversed as a big error cost them.
The Vikings (12-6) played phenomenal defense behind starting pitcher Joe Shrum.
“This is a tough one to take,” Ringgold coach Don Roberts said. “But that’s the game of baseball.”
