Local cagers named to All-State teams

A trio of local basketball standouts were named to the 2018-19 Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Boys Basketball teams on Tuesday.
Serra Catholic senior forward Jimmy Moon and California junior forward Malik Ramsey were named to the second and third teams, respectively, in Class 2A, while former Monessen freshman Devin Whitlock was a third-team selection in Class A.
Whitlock, an impact player for the Greyhounds in both football and basketball, recently withdrew from Monessen and has enrolled at Belle Vernon Area.
Moon was a big contributor behind Serra Catholic’s success in 2018-19.
