Loretta J. “Tootsie” Cieply, 87, of Monessen, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2019, after celebrating her birthday in a joyous occasion with her loving family the day before. She was born on May 12, 1932, in Monessen, daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Dubinsky Fritz. Loretta grew up in Monessen and was a 1950 graduate of Monessen High School. She had worked at the Douglas Business School as the financial secretary before retiring in 1973. Loretta was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Sisterhood. She was an avid card player and played in two card clubs for over 50 years with her lifelong friends. Those who knew her knew she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be remembered as a caring, reliable, dependable, responsible and faithful person. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Walter “Woch” Cieply; two daughters, Karen (George) Guseman of Monongahela, and “Sissy” (Dennis) Jochmann of Moon Township; a son, Walter A. (Beverly) Cieply of Rostraver Township; nine grandchildren, Derek Jochmann, Brittany Jochmann, Julianne (Owen) Evans, Ben (Shawna) Cieply, Dan (Ashley) Cieply, Aaron (Jessi) Cieply, Ethan (Rachel) Cieply, Robin Guseman and George (Rae Lyn) Guseman; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Kunsa. Friends will be received at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, followed by the funeral service with the Rev. Tim Burgan officiating.
