Kathleen Jane Ballentyne – Monessen

Kathleen Jane Ballentyne, 68, of Monessen, originally from Charleroi, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at her home. She was born February 14, 1951 at the old Charleroi Monessen Hospital. Kathy was the daughter of the late Kenneth R., Sr. and Amelia May Lowers Ballentyne. She was United Methodist by faith. Kathy graduated from Charleroi Area High School in 1968. She was employed in the office of the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Mill in Allenport for many years. Then worked several years as a medical transcriptionist. Survivors included her beloved daughter Jaylee Ballentyne, at home. A brother, Kenneth R. (Sherry) Ballentyne of Speers; A cousin, Donna Brown Ball of New Cumberland, PA; and a nephew, nieces, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Ballentyne; an Aunt, Judy Brown; and a cousin, Leslee Brown. There will be no public viewing. A private service will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local Make A Wish Foundation. Rhome Funeral Home in Monessen is in charge of the arrangements.
