Elmer Maynard Devore Jr. – New Eagle formerly of Charleroi

Elmer Maynard Devore Jr., 67, of New Eagle formerly of Charleroi, died Sunday May 12, 2019, at his home. He was born in Monongahela, on Aug. 25, 1951, son of Elmer Maynard and Loretta Mickey Devore Sr. Elmer was a trackman operator for Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring after 38 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Vanderbilt. Elmer loved fishing and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Frances Eloise Mowry Devore of New Eagle; two sons, Francis Devore of Charleroi and Anthony Devore of West Mifflin; two daughters, Desiree Devore of Charleroi and Jessica Devore of Pittsburgh; a step-daughter, Lynne Kostyk of Windbor; a brother, Eddie Devore of Charleroi; two sisters, Nancy Vargo of Donora and Shirley Devore of Monessen; a step-brother, Darrin Grimes of Donora; eight grandchildren, Alex, Taylon, Taylor, Dillon, Isihia, Ashley, Alyssia and Aubree; an aunt, Edith Snyder of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; an uncle, Richard Devore of New Castle, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC. 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Lawrence King presiding.
