Six seek spots on EF board

Six candidates will vie for five open seats on the Elizabeth Forward School Board during the May 21 primary.
The candidates, all of whom have cross-filed as both Democrats and Republicans, are incumbents Thomas Sharkey, Megan Ferraro and Travis Stoffer, along with newcomers Scott Henry, Samuel Coccia Jr. and Richard Borkowski.
Sharkey, 44, of Elizabeth Township is finishing his fourth year as a member of EF’s school board. He was vice president for two years and has served the last two years as president of the board.
A local pharmacist, Sharkey graduated from Elizabeth Forward in 1993 – serving as valedictorian – and is a University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy graduate.
