John E. Krempasky – Monongahela

John E. Krempasky, 79, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, in Monongahela-Valley Hospital. Born June 20, 1939, in Yukon, he was the son of the late Samuel and Stella Szary Krempasky. After his graduation from Monongahela High School in 1957, John attended Val-Tech in Blairsville where he studied to be an auto mechanic. He served five years in the U.S. Air Force as a radio repairman serving during the Vietnam Era. After returning home he began working at both U.S. Steel Clairton Works, where he spent over 40 years as a pipe fitter, and 30 years as the service manager for the Sears Auto Center at the South Hills Village location. A member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, formerly St. Anthony Church, in Monongahela, he was a member of the Carroll Township American Legion No. 949. Surviving are his wife, Dolores M. Jurkiewicz Krempasky, who he married Oct. 21, 1961; three sons, John and wife Lisa  Krempasky, Joe Krempasky (Patty LaBrasca) of Monongahela, and Jim  Krempasky (Geneann Ashcraft) of Finleyville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Robert Boyer and Lisa and Carl Soderholm of Monongahela; sister and husband, Kathryn and James Zukowski of Bethel Park; eleven grandchildren, Sarah and Ava Krempasky, Sam and Jake Krempasky, Robert Boyer, Izabella Soderholm, Pete LaBrasca, Alyssa and Brianna Ashcraft and Carl and Bruce Soderholm; a special cousin, Stan Szary of Oregon. Also preceding him in death was his cousin, Bill Szary. Friends will be received at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral prayers will begin in the funeral home 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish with Father Patrick Barkey as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township, with military honors conducted by the Mon-Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made in John’s name to the Monongahela Volunteer Fire Department, 451 West Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
