The WPIAL released the 2019 softball playoff brackets Thursday afternoon, showing the seven local teams when, who and where they’ll be playing in this year’s postseason.
The Mon Valley is represented in Class 4A, 3A, 2A and A.
In Class 4A, Ringgold is seeded ninth, Yough is fifth and Elizabeth Forward received a first-round bye after being awarded the No. 2 seed. The Warriors are looking to get back to the WPIAL championship after finishing as the runner-up last season.
South Allegheny joins the Warriors with a bye, as the Gladiators were seeded second in Class 3A.
Defending WPIAL runner-up Frazier is seeded fifth in 2A. Serra Catholic joins the Commodores in the bracket as the No. 7 seed.
