Warriors clinch playoff berth

After watching a six-run lead fade away in the top of the fifth inning, Elizabeth Forward head coach Frank Champ didn’t want to hear any excuses from his team. He wanted them to get up and get the job done.
They did just that in the bottom of the inning.
The Warriors exploded for eight runs on eight hits in the frame to take a 14-6 lead before holding on for a 14-12 win over rival Belle Vernon Area and advance to the WPIAL playoffs for the first time in five seasons.
