An arrest warrant was issued Sunday for a Charleroi man accused of assaulting his girlfriend.

Charleroi Regional police charged Welmar Adonay Rosales-Baides, 33, of Fallowfield Avenue with aggravated assault, strangulation and simple assault.

Alleged victim Shauwna Sethman was “out of breath and with multiple cuts and red markings on her” when she went to the police station with her dog around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Sethman told police her boyfriend, Rosales-Baides, attacked her during an argument over an app on his cellphone. He allegedly choked her with his arm until she felt like she was “going to die,” leaving visible marks, police said.
