Catherine Mae Mihalcin Verba – Rostraver Township

Catherine Mae Mihalcin Verba, 84, of Rostraver Township, Belle Vernon, formerly of Perryopolis, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at the home of her sister. She was born on June 22, 1934, in Van Meter, daughter of Andrew and Mary Tucker Mihalcin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Barney” Verba; siblings, Margaret Barcovteh, Eleanor Barbus, Steve Mihalcin, Darlene Basista and John Mihalcin. Catherine is survived by her brother, Robert (Winnie) Mihalcin; sisters, Rose Mihalcin of Whitsett, Susan (Jacob) Hall of Belle Vernon, Mary (Frank) Batronis of Leesburg, Fla., Karen (Wayne) Scanlan of Keyser, W.Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine’s family would like to thank Anova Hospice for the wonderful care given to Catherine. Catherine’s family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME, 305 Rear Independence St., Perryopolis, where her funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Belle Vernon. Online condolences are welcome at blair-lowther.com.
