Eleanor E. Turnbull, 94, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully at Havencrest Healthcare Center with her family by her side, on April 29, 2019. Eleanor was born in Donora on June 1, 1924, daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth Karabin Sukel. Ellie was a member of Mary Mother of the Church and a former member of the Charthene Club of Charleroi, Athene Club and the Charleroi Golden Agers. Ellie was a long-time employee at the Alan Benyak Law Office in Charleroi. She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Dave) Bosson of Napa, Calif.; Patty (Larry) Hopkins of Charleroi and Kathy (John) McDonough of Mapleview; her grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Moore, Ryan (Elaine) Hopkins, Erin (Chris) Scanlon, Adam Mucci and Eric (Kristin) Large; her great-grandchildren, Dalton Smith, Makenna Moore, Landon Moore, Jack Scanlon, Austin Mucci, Will Scanlon, Bryce Large, Levi Large, Eliot Hopkins, Liora Hopkins and Ellie Scanlon. In addition to her parents, Ellie was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Turnbull; and brothers, Albert Sukel and Edward Sukel. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2019, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Mary, Mother of the Church, Seventh Street and Washington Avenue, Charleroi, celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Mikonis. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
