Annual Relay for Life set for Friday
By TAYLOR BROWN
Mon Valley students are once again preparing to change the lives of those fighting cancer, and this year they have a special message to go along with their theme: Game on!
Relay for Life Mon Valley is expected to attract more than 1,000 people Friday to “the circle” in front of Charleroi Elementary Center in Fallowfield Township.
In past years, the event was held at Myron Pottios Stadium.
Organizers are hoping the change in locations makes it a more inclusive and accessible event, saying those who plan to attend should bring their A-game.
“Games” was the top choice for this year’s theme among student planners from Belle Vernon Area, Charleroi Area, Elizabeth Forward, Frazier and Ringgold.
Additionally, students from Monessen and the Mon Valley and Fayette Career and Technology Centers have been working for several months to pull off the event, which has more than 60 teams expected to participate.
