Auberle of McKeesport has been selected as Comcast and NBC Universal’s 2019 Comcast Cares Day honoree.

Local Comcast and NBC Universal employees and their families, friends and community partners will “make change happen” as they volunteer to improve Auberle as part of the 18th annual Comcast Cares Day, Auberle Spokeswoman Erin Rhodes said.

Volunteers will work with staff members and those who benefit from services at Auberle to do outdoor landscaping and painting projects and to construct a chicken coop and fence.

Auberle’s McKeesport campus has been raising a group of chicks since April 12. Auberle hopes the coop will be open and operational next month so that area students can use it for STEAM education initiatives. Visit the Auberle Facebook page for updates on the growth and health of the chicks.
