Hounds’ pitching falters as Trojans cruise

After 2 ½ innings, Monessen led California, 4-0, in a battle for at least a share of the lead in Section 2-A at Malden Yards Tuesday.
It wasn’t a sign of things to come.
The Trojans exploded for 14 unanswered runs to turn the game into a 14-4 rout in a game called in the bottom of the sixth.
The Greyhounds (5-5, 4-2) struggled mightily on the mound as the Trojans (8-1, 6-1) pounded out 11 hits against five different pitchers and took advantage of 11 walks and two hit batters.
