Conard’s arm leads Eagles over Raiders

Usually it will take Kaitlyn Conard an inning or two to gauge just how she’s feeling on the mound.

After facing enough batters, Conard can figure out what’s working, and what pitches she’s locating. But on Monday, Conard came to a conclusion before she even faced a hitter: she was locked in.

The next seven innings beared out that inclination, as Conard pitched a gem, leading Serra Catholic (7-2, 7-1) to a 3-0 win over Riverview (4-3, 3-3). 

Over seven shutout innings, Conard surrendered just two hits, walked none and struck out nine batters. She threw just 78 pitches, locating 63 strikes. Simply, Conard was dominant
