The Mon Yough Area Chamber of Commerce is calling on local business owners and community and municipal leaders in the Mon and Yough valleys to attend its annual Legislative Lunch.

This year’s event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Sunset Room in Elizabeth Township. The theme for the annual luncheon is “Economic Development Opportunities and Resources in the Mon Valley.”

The keynote speaker will be Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who is familiar with the Mon and Yough valleys as he was the mayor of Braddock for many years prior to being elected lieutenant governor in November.

The event’s emcee will be Michael Bartley, an award-winning journalist who worked for WQED Multimedia for 17 years before becoming executive vice president of the Steeltown Entertainment Project, an organization that “develops diverse content creators of film and media arts with training, mentoring, equipment and networking opportunities.” To learn more, visit www.steeltown.org.
