The Ringgold girls set up a big section showdown at Belle Vernon Area Monday with a 7-6 win at McKeesport Thursday.

The Rams (4-4, 4-3) used a three-run sixth inning to take the lead and held off the Tigers (1-6, 1-6) in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Trailing 5-4 entering the sixth, Nya Adams reached on an error by second baseman Samantha Pollock which allowed Lauren Temoshenka to score the tying run.

Jordan Sinz reached on a fielder’s choice to put Adams on second. Jillian Scherer stepped up and helped her own cause, ripping a two-run double to left to give her team a 7-5 lead.
