Yough baseball cruises past Derry

Jarett Bach improved to 5-0 on the season as the Yough baseball team used a nine-run fifth inning to roll over visiting Derry, 12-2, on Cougar Mountain.
Bach worked five innings and struck out nine. Both of his runs allowed were unearned.
Ray Halahurich had a pair of hits for the Cougars (8-5, 5-1) and Steve Manon had a triple and three RBIs. Noah Manns blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the mercy rule and end the game.
Paul Koontz took the loss for Derry (2-5, 1-4).
