Mon River Fleet Lions lend a hand to Meals on Wheels

McKeesport Meals on Wheels volunteer Helen Stratigos said the organization is “dedicated and reliable” volunteers are determined to make sure their senior citizen neighbors with health or mobility issues get two meals each weekday.
But Stratigos and program coordinator/director Rose Marshall say the group needs extra helping hands to assist with cooking, packing and distributing 180 daily meals to around 90 different clients.
As the sun was rising Wednesday, a group from the Mon River Fleet Lions Club joined a handful of Meals on Wheels volunteers to make food packages.
Every Monday through Friday, Meals on Wheels provides two meals for each of its clients — one hot meal and a brown bag lunch.
