Arthur L. Popp – Monessen

Arthur L. Popp, 92, of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2019, in Hallsworth House of Monessen. He was born in Monessen on Nov. 28, 1926, a son of the late Howard and Frances Winstone Popp. Art faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and was a life member of Monessen BPOE No. 773 and the American Legion. Art had been employed by the Authority of the Borough of Charleroi for 42 years, having served 26 of those years as the superintendent, before retiring in 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Arlene and husband Joe DeStefon of Charleroi; granddaughter, Shannon and husband Anthony Angotti of Carroll Township; grandson, Sean and wife Cheryl DeStefan of Mooresville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Chase, Aidan and Gavin Angotti and Ava and Benjamin DeStefan; a sister, Kay Blair;  his dear friend and companion, Lia Petaccia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Moussiaux Popp; and his son, Denny Popp. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2019. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
