Plans are moving forward for improvements to Ninth Street Park. Phase I improvements will be completed with the help of a $50,000 grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Phase I improvements include a children’s playground and pavilions. Construction is expected to begin this summer, according to councilman Dennis Hickman.
Dave Lucchesi of Mon Valley A.B.A.T.E. addressed council on the possibility of creating a motorcycle and ATV park in the borough. The proposed site would be a 125-acre municipal property at a former garbage dump.
