Belle Vernon Area School Board on Monday terminated its longstanding agreement with the Fayette City Borough Recreational League.

The sub-lease will remain in effect under the previously agreed upon memorandum of understanding between the two entities until May 15.

Superintendent Dr. Michele Dowell said the district is waiting to do its final walkthrough of the facilities it was previously responsible for maintaining at the Fayette City Community Ballfield.

“This has been in the works for about seven or eight months,” she said.
