Style change no problem for Hartman

For the MV Independent
In the 1992 movie “A League of Their Own” about a women’s professional baseball league formed during World War II years, Tom Hanks plays a grizzled former pro baseball player named Jimmy Dugan who manages one of the women’s teams.
In one scene, he is belittling one of his players about her performance and she starts crying.
Hanks’ eyes widen and he proclaims, “There’s no crying in baseball!”
Don Hartman says not only does he understand what Hanks’ character was feeling, but that he has been reminded of that scene many times the last couple of years. He knows what Jimmy Dugan was dealing with because he has walked in his shoes.
Sort of.
