Selina Mae Folk Peterson – Monongahela

Selina Mae Folk Peterson, 85, of Monongahela, died Saturday, April 13, 2019, in Mon Valley Care Center, Carroll Township. Born Oct. 5, 1933, in Frostburg, Md., she was the daughter of Clarence N. and Ruth Mason Folk. For many years, Mae worked as a barmaid at the former Belvedere Bar and Restaurant in Monongahela and then at the former Furniture Factory in West Mifflin until her retirement. She was a member of Bunola Nazarene Church and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Surviving are three sons, Don (Lynn Ann) Trumpie of Emporium, Ron Trumpie (Desiree Hoosac) of Bunola and Lon (Janice) Trumpie of Bunola; five daughters, Diane (Mark) Dugan of Elizabeth, Eleanor (Kevin) Shaner of Clairton, Leona VanRyn of Elizabeth, Deborah Trumpie (Buzzy Corbett) of Monongahela and Connie (Rich) Petroske of Ruffsdale; two brothers, John Folk and Carl “Sam” (Beatty) Folk of Bunola; two sisters, Sharon Fine of Monongahela and Nancy Williams of Bunola; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard Peterson; a son, David Peterson; a sister, Dorothy Salka; and her longtime companion, Fred Hoover. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Condolences can be left online at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
