In a battle for the top spot in Section 3-2A, Serra Catholic made a statement against Brentwood on Saturday.

The Eagles (8-1, 3-0) claimed sole possession of first place in the section and captured its fifth straight victory with a convincing 11-1 triumph over the Spartans (5-2, 2-1) in six innings at the Boston Ballfields.

Serra Catholic’s bats wrought havoc all afternoon, collecting 14 hits in support of starting pitcher Logan Exler who tossed five quality innings.

The lopsided win over the only other remaining undefeated team in the section was an encouraging one for the Eagles, a young group that has worked tirelessly to become a more consistent unit.
