Monessen offers thanks for gifts

Monessen council members expressed thanks Thursday for multiple donations to the city as an offset to the monthly spending report at the city council work session agenda meeting on Thursday.  

Councilwoman Lois Thomas reported contributions from Westmoreland County Cleanways, a recycling center out of Latrobe.

The city also received a Toughbook laptop and docking station for use in a police car. 

“It was an anonymous, generous gift that we can hopefully use in one of the two new police cars we’re trying to get,” Acting Mayor Anthony Orzechowski said.
