John J. ‘Marty’ Martinak – Belle Vernon

John J. “Marty” Martinak, 77, of Belle Vernon, passed away on April 11, 2019, at the Uniontown Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late John Martinak Sr. and Rose Herspold Martinak. Marty enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing. He was a former member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a good friend to many, was involved in his building’s tenant association and did all he could for the community. Marty served his country in the United States Navy as part of the Seabees. Surviving are his four sons, Dennis and wife Gina Martinak of Allenport, John “Jake” and wife Chris Martinak of Perryopolis, Jeff Martinak of Perryopolis and Darren Martinak of West Newton; grandchildren, Lauren and husband Evan Kaskie, Ashlee Martinak and Dustin Martinak; three great-grandchildren, Landen, Gavin and Dylan; his dear friend, Gloria Bennett; two brothers, Mitch and wife Kay Martinak of Rockton, Ill., and Rudy Martinak of Sumner, Wash. A celebration of Marty’s life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Moose Lodge in Perryopolis.
