Fallowfield Twp. gets replacement for damaged Freightliner

By Mon Valley Independent

Things are finally looking up for Fallowfield Township.

A new Freightliner was delivered Thursday, and restoration will begin next week on the municipal garage nearly five months after a fire destroyed the building and hundreds of thousands dollars worth of equipment and tools inside.

A Freightliner truck caught fire inside the garage Nov. 16. Although it was extinguished quickly, two trucks inside were destroyed and a third truck was damaged.

For the last several months, supervisors have been working with their insurance company to replace the trucks and equipment and to repair the garage, leaving them shorthanded over the winter with only two vehicles to maintain more than 60 miles of roadways.
