Company sues Monessen, Smith

The City of Monessen and its police chief have been sued in federal court by a construction company that claims it was damaged by a warning issued by the officer.
Bella Construction of Irwin filed the suit Friday in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
According to the suit, a May 2018 hail storm resulted in damage to various properties throughout Monessen and Bella Construction entered into contracts with some owners to inspect properties and repair damage.
The suit claims that in an article that appeared July 10, 2018, in the Mon Valley Independent Smith “publicly attacked the plaintiff’s reputation.”
