Alice LaVerne Williams – North Charleroi

Alice LaVerne Williams, 89, of North Charleroi, passed away Friday, April 6, 2019, in Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. She was born Aug. 28, 1929, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late Albert and Josephine Morgan Watts. LaVerne was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Athene Club and the Historical Society, all of Charleroi. She was formerly employed at the former Army-Navy Store in Charleroi. LaVerne is survived by her three sons, Irvin G. Williams III and wife Jessie of Huntington, Mass., Vernon Williams and wife Lynn of Coal Center, and Perry Williams of Charleroi; eight grandchildren, Irvin G. Williams IV, Butch, Kevin and Thomas Donovan, Laurie Vesely and fiancé Jamie Colagiovanni, Stephen Vesely, Jr., Mandy and Jeremy Matinko and Christopher and Brianna Vesely; four great-grandchildren, Cody Telegraphis, Grayson, Ayden and Paige Vesely. In addition to her parents, LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Glenn Williams Jr.; her daughter, Peggy Richel; sister, Laura May Armentrout; and two brothers, Charles and Albert Watts. Friends will be received from 3 to 8p.m. Wednesday at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in Westland Cemetery.
