Charleroi Area Elementary Center students have once again rose to the occasion to help their community.
For the last 11 years librarian Becky Spiker has organized Read Across America activities associated with the birthday of late children’s book author Dr. Seuss on March 2.
In addition to “crazy” themed days to honor the late author and his colorful tales to encourage reading, the elementary school sponsors an annual fundraiser to benefit a local charity.
This year, students held a read-a-thon to benefit animal shelters in Washington County.
