Monessen road work prompts bus schedule changes

Ongoing construction in downtown Monessen is creating a clearance and safety hazard for Mid-Mon Valley Transit Authority buses and passengers between Fourth and Fifth Streets on Donner Avenue.

In an alert issued Wednesday, the MMVTA announced service for Commuter A and Express 2 buses toward Pittsburgh and all Valley 1 and Valley 3 buses will have limited access through Monessen beginning today.

This detour will also cause delays for buses to and from Pittsburgh.
