Several McKeesport first responders got promotions at Wednesday’s city council meeting.

One firefighter was promoted and five members of the police department moved up the ranks.

Firefighter Jeff List, celebrating his 21st anniversary of being a firefighter for the McKeesport department was promoted to the position of deputy chief. Serving as Mc-Keesport’s fire captain since 2013, List is filling the deputy chief’s position that has been vacant since Chuck Margliotti retired Jan. 1, after 37 years of service.

“Jeff List is an individual that is one of the most incredible persons I have ever met,” Mayor Michael Cherepko said. “He is someone who takes pride in his job. He is a class act and a family man.”
