Voters who live in Versailles borough were alerted at Tuesday’s council meeting that their polling place has changed.
Council President Lisa Fleckenstein announced that the borough received notification this week that there will now only be one polling place, located at Park Baptist Church, 749 Center St. The change will be in effect for the upcoming May 21 primary.
There will no longer be polling places at the Versailles Municipal Building or at the Versailles Apartments. The change affects all registered voters who live in the borough, Fleckenstein said.
She said she contacted the Allegheny County Division of Elections to ask if residents would be notified and a county representative told her that polling place change notice letters will be sent to residents prior to the May primary.
Fleckenstein said the borough will also hang signs at the borough building and at the apartment building to remind residents of the change.
