Loma Jean Benedetti, 92, of Coal Center, passed away Saturday March 30, 2019, in the Mon Valley Hospital. Born in Stockdale on July 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Amy Astle. Loma Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church of Charleroi and a member of the church choir for many years.  She resided for many years in Altoona and worked as a bank teller for Mellon Bank and Hollidaysburg Trust. She made her home with her niece, Janice and husband Timothy Summers, for the past three years. Loma Jean loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She sang in choral groups and at many weddings as a soloist. She liked playing cards, bingo, shopping and visiting with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor G. Benedetti, in 1963. She was the last of nine siblings, preceded in death by Ernest, Hazel, Milton, Marion, Woodrow, Florence, Doris and Raymond. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300 www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Charleroi with Deacon Terry Smolick officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
