Gail Flower – Slippery Rock, formerly of Donora and Rostraver Township

Gail Flower, 95, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Donora and Rostraver Township, died Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Born in Rostraver Township on Sept. 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Grace Greenwood Kane. Gail was a bookkeeper for Joseph Horne’s, Donora Tax Office, Westinghouse at Large and Zeffiro’s. She was a member of Barren Run Methodist Church in Smithton. She was also a member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 205 in Donora and the Forecast Women’s Club in Donora. Gail enjoyed playing bridge and traveling to Florida for the winters. She is survived by her son, the Rev. Charles R. (Carol) Fowler of Slippery Rock; grandsons, Patrick Robert (Amy) Fowler and Michael Ross Fowler; great-granddaughter, Jordan Fowler; and her second husband, Frank Flower and his sons and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert James “Rab” Fowler; sisters, Dorothy Dolfi, Faye Giles and Betty Vizza; and an infant brother, Jack Kane. Per Gail’s request, there will be no public visitation. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Monongahela Cemetery with the Rev. Keith McIlwain of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com. The family suggests memorial contributions to Camp Wesley Woods Capital Campaign, 1204 Freedom Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
