Homicide charges filed in fatal accident

A McKeesport woman was charged Tuesday with criminal homicide after a 72-year-old man she allegedly struck with a vehicle in July died March 15 as a result of injuries sustained during the incident.

Jakiia Anise Williams, 33, was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge William Wagner.

Police heard gunshots around 2:45 p.m. July 26 near the Harrison Village housing complex and saw a white Chevrolet Impala fleeing the area. Officers detained the driver, who was later identified as Williams, according to Allegheny County Homicide Unit Lt. Ken Ruckel.

Officers say she ran over 72-year-old Leslie Robertson of McKeesport, who was transported to a local trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries.
